How do I change the nozzle on a FlashForge Adventurer 5M, 5M Pro or AD5X?

The Adventurer 5M series uses a tool-free quick-release nozzle — replacement takes about a minute.

These steps apply to the FlashForge Adventurer 5M, Adventurer 5M Pro and AD5X, which share the same quick-swap nozzle design.

Removing the old nozzle

  1. Power off the printer.
  2. Remove the filament guide tube from the extruder and cut the filament.
  3. Press the left and right buckles on the nozzle at the same time, and pull the nozzle down and out.

Installing the new nozzle

  1. Trim the filament flush along the top of the nozzle.
  2. Insert the new nozzle into the extruder until you hear a click — that sound means the buckles have seated.
  3. Check that the nozzle slot aligns flush with the bottom of the extruder. The nozzle must be pressed firmly to the bottom.

If the nozzle won't seat, press the buckles while inserting it — or lift the extruder's front cover slightly (grab its lower edge and pull upward) to watch the seating position.

FlashForge's official guide, including the maintenance video, is on the FlashForge Wiki.

After replacing the nozzle, run the printer's auto-calibration before your next print so the Z-offset matches the new nozzle.
